Richarlison close to signing new long-term Everton contract

Richarlison is close to signing a new deal with Everton to keep him at the club until 2024.

Director of football Marcel Brands has today revealed that the Brazilian and the Blues are in the "last details" of handing the 22-year-old a new deal.

Richarlison joined Everton from Watford in the summer of 2018 and finished last term as the squad's joint-top scorer with 13 goals in the league.

Brands has described Richarlison as a "key player" has is thrilled that the Brazil international is close to signing new contract.

He said: "We have to look at the positives ahead and one of the positive thing this week is that we are now busy with the last details of extending a new contract with one of our key players, Richarlison, until 2024.

"So that is something positive for the long-term."
