Pauly Shore — star of such classics as many an MTV show, Encino Man, Dream Date and Bio-Dome — might be having a big comeback.
And it involves him playing the great Richard Simmons, of Sweatin’ to the Oldies fame.
Yes, that’s right, a sentence I’d never thought I’d write, even in the early 1990s, when both of them were in the zeitgeist: Shore plays Simmons in Th Court Jester, a short movie about the man who was all about mental health and physical wellbeing and living your best life.
But the real Simmons — now retired — doesn’t sound happy about it, per a Facebook post:
