Richard Osman's mind blown after visit to Bristol Temple Meads Station

There are lots of things the very clever Richard Osman knows - how to create and present long-running quiz shows and pen hugely successful crime novels to name but two.

But there are some things that can still blow his mind - and that includes why Bristol Temple Meads doesn't have an M&S.

The Pointless and House of Games star was in the city to promote his new novel - The Man Who Died Twice - which was released this month.

The comedy murder tale features a stolen £20 million pounds worth of diamonds and an intrepid group of pensioners and is the sequel to his breakout novel, The Thursday Murder Club.

Yesterday, (Wednesday, September 22) he was seen at Max Minerva's on North View, Westbury Park, and then later at Storysmith Books in Bedminster signing books.

On twitter yesterday, his comment "It still blows my mind that Bristol Temple Meads station doesn't have an M&S" prompted a lot of reaction on twitter.

Comedian Jonathan Cairns replied: "Is it too late to put a Bristol Temple Meads M&S in The Man Who Died Twice? That ought to get the ball rolling."

While another twitter user joked: "On the other hand, Bristol M&S does have its own train station."

Another replied: "The Bristol Royal Infirmary does though ..me babber"

While another japester said: "So it’s called Britol Teple ead, then??"

The station does, however, have a WHSmith as well as a number of coffee shops and places to get a bite to eat.

And this prompted one person to tweet: "WHSmith has been refurbed and now sells M&S items."
