Richard Osman accuses stars of outrageous cheating on Pointless Celebrity

Presenter Richard Osman has lifted the lid on the shocking behaviour that goes on on Pointless Celebrities.

The TV host has opened up about the blatant cheating that he claims is rife and 'non-stop' on the popular BBC gameshow.

Richard, 49, has revealed that cheeky celebrities are constantly whispering answers to their partners during the challenges.

While he described the cheating as relentless, the high-profile stars rarely get away with their mischievous ways.

This is due to the fact that their microphones pick up the forbidden conversations.

Richard revealed the contestants' sneaky tactics when he appeared on Richard Herring's Leicester Square Theatre podcast.

When asked about whispering and cheating in a discussion about the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? coughing scandal, the host admitted that it's constant on Pointless Celebrities.

Richard insisted: "Oh, God. It's non-stop, most of the time. I can't remember who it was - it was like [the actress and pop star] Sonia, or something.

"It might not have been Sonia so, if it's not, don't sue - it was someone like you.

"Xander [co-host Alexander Armstrong] says, 'Oh, sorry - I did say no conferring'.

"And she just went, 'We're not conferring. We're just discussing the answer'."

The much-loved TV star also detailed a rather embarrassing episode when a celebrity guest blatantly swindled their way to share the correct answer with their partner.

"I remember someone - we had a golf question. I can't remember who it was," he explained.

"Someone who had said, 'I know nothing at all about golf. I know nothing about golf'. So you're like: 'OK, well we're going to need something'.

"And she says, 'Oh I've just thought of someone: Phil Nickleson'.

"And I said, 'Can I just say one thing? Firstly, if you know nothing about golf then that is an unusual answer'.

"But, secondly, Phil Nickleson is exactly the answer that someone would give if someone else had just whispered Phil Mickleson - which is the correct answer - into their ear'," he laughed.

*Pointless airs weekdays from 5.15pm on BBC1
