Premier League supremo Richard Masters has been asked fresh questions on Newcastle United’s takeover hopes.
The Magpies have mounted a double-barrelled legal challenge against the top-flight with an arbitration battle and anti-competition claim in progress.
United owner Mike Ashley is furious that the £340million bid from Amanda Staveley, Saudi Arabia’s PIF and the Reuben brothers was not passed and hopes for a summer sale.
Masters, speaking to Sky Sports, said: “They’re in the Premier League and we are pleased about that.
“But there is nothing I can say about the takeover. Or any talks.”
Ashley said last week that “dark forces” needed to step aside and let Newcastle compete with the super powers in the game.
