Richard Madley proved he was a safe pair of hands while on grandfather duty with his grandson, Kit, over the weekend.
The 65-year-old TV star is a grandfather of three – with Kit being his youngest, and who is the son of his and wife Judy Finnigan’s son, Jack.
Richard was spied carrying his two-year-old grandson through the streets of North London on Sunday – as they battled high winds and chilly temperatures as summer weather continues to evade the UK.
The Good Morning Britain host looked smart-casual in a blazer, white shirt, black jeans and brown suede shoes – while grandson Kit was wrapped up in a warm coat.
Richard and 73-year-old Judy have two children together – 35-year-old son Jack, who shares son Kit with girlfriend Issy, and 33-year-old fitness model daughter Chloe, who is married to sports hunk James Haskell.
Richard is also step father to Judy’s two other sons – 44-year-old twins Dan and Tom Henshaw – from her previous marriage to David Henshaw which lasted from 1974 to 1986.
Tom is father to seven-year-old Edith and six-year-old Ivy – giving Richard and Judy three grandchildren so far.
Judy has previously expressed her joy at becoming a grandmother and watching her family blossom.
She told the Guardian back in 2013: “I’m a grandmother now, which I love.
“I take it very seriously – and it's true what everyone says: when you're a grandmother, you feel an immense wave of love.
“When I first saw Ivy, it just kicked me in the teeth. She's one of us.”
She added: “You get very tribal when you're a grandmother.”
While in 2018, Judy commented that while she adored being a grandmother, she couldn’t deny the fact it made her feel old.
Speaking to Prima magazine, she said: “I wrote earlier this year how strange it is when your family starts exploding and your little ones have babies of their own.
“It's joyous and great fun. But, dear God, it makes you feel your age.”
Richard and Judy could soon have more grandchildren to keep them busy as their daughter has hinted she is ready to start a family of her own.
Chloe told OK! magazine earlier this year: “We’re not not trying, but we’re also not trying.
“There is absolutely no pressure, but we’re also not doing everything we can to stay safe. Who knows what the next couple of years will bring. If it happened it would be a lovely surprise.
“I’ve watched that happen to my brothers and I think they’re very lucky, because it doesn’t happen for everyone and it may not happen for me. We’ll see what happens.”
