Richard Madeley signs up to GMB for a month and responds to I'm A Celebrity rumours

After Piers Morgan quit Good Morning Britain co-presenter Susanna Reid has been joined by many different co-hosts with Richard Madeley often taking the slot.

Today on the popular morning chat show he announced that he would be filling in the place for the next month.

He told viewers: "I'm with you now for a solid month, so I'm sorry about that!"

Many think Richard, 65, will be taking over the role permanently and a lot of viewers are not impressed.

Audiences took to Twitter to express their disappointment.

One said: "Devastating news today for viewers of Good Morning Britain, Richard Madeley is on for a month"

Another said: "Aren't the public going through enough at the moment without you subjecting us to #RichardMadeley for a month?"

A third added: "Argh... #richardmadeley was on @GMB again switched back to BBC1"

And: "How does Richard Madeley still get on TV?"

During the programme the host also addressed rumours about him appearing on this year's series of the reality TV show, I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.

The reality TV show will be filmed and set again at Gwrych Castle , in north Wales and Richard is rumoured to be part of the lineup. You can read more I'm A Celebrity cast rumours here.

Giving a coy answer, he said: "I've asked ITV what I can say because I may be going and I might not be going.

"I could be a hare that could be running in the race, I could be a distraction."

Time will tell as viewers wait to see if Richard will enter the castle.

Good Morning Britain is on every weekday from 6am on ITV.
