Richard Madeley reunites with wife Judy for shopping trip after I’m A Celeb exit

Richard Madeley has reunited with his wife Judy Finnigan for a shopping trip after his exit from ITV ’s I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

The 65-year-old was forced to quit the hit show after he fell ill and was rushed to hospital, and was told by producers he was unable to return to the castle due to breaking the set’s strict Covid protocols by leaving the camp.

He headed back to wife of 35 years Judy, and their kids Jack and Chloe on Thursday, and was spotted waving to photographers outside his London home following his shock exit from the ITV show.

And on Sunday, he was seen for the first time since leaving the castle with wife Judy, as the loved-up couple enjoyed a couple's shopping trip in the capital to celebrate his return.

Judy, 73, looked stunning with her blonde locks flowing around her shoulders, and she complimented her youthful look with a chic black coat and a bold printed scarf.

She finished off the casual outfit with a red Kurt Geiger shoulder bag, and she looked over the moon as she linked arms with Richard, who was wearing a black bomber style jacket and jeans.

At one point, Judy was gazing lovingly at her husband, and she was animatedly chatting to the Good Morning Britain co-host, who looked deep in thought as he walked along the road with his wife.

Their festive outing came as Richard gave more details about his shock departure from the castle, and explained that he was suffering from severe dehydration, as well as a lack of sleep.

The TV presenter was one of the favourites to win the ITV show, but it was not to be, and just days after entering the castle and hitting it off with his campmates, Richard was whisked off to hospital as a precaution following a funny turn in the night.

“I think I got dehydrated. It was actually quite disturbing. I'd been up for 20 hours, I don't think I got to bed until 4, 4.30 in the morning. I'm quite bad at remembering to drink anyway,” he said during an appearance on Good Morning Britain on Monday.

“As I snuggled in for the night, I thought I haven't had a drink, I'll have a big drink in the morning, I woke up babbling, I didn't know where I was, I couldn't string a sentence together,” he explained, as he confessed he didn’t realise leaving the castle would mean the end of his stint on the show.

“I wanted to go back but there was no way I could risk going back in. It just wasn't an option, they are so strict about it. If I had the bug and went back to camp and it spread, it would have killed the series,” Richard complained.

He heaped praise on ITV bosses, who ensured he had a clean bill of health before he left the hospital, but bad news lay ahead as a tearful producer broke the news to Richard.

“It wasn't until I picked up my meds, the producer was very upset, so here I am,” he said.
