Richard Madeley 'punched in the face' by James Bond stuntman on Good Morning Britain

Richard Madeley got punched in face earlier today by a James Bond stuntman.

Rocky Taylor, 73, lived up to his boxer name and walloped the Good Morning Britain host live on air.

But do not worry - no one was hurt in the making of this video.

Rocky - who has stood in for Roger Moore and Sean Connery in the James Bond films - was showcasing his talents to the breakfast show’s panel when he squared up to Richard.

Setting the scene, Richard told Rocky - the world’s oldest stuntman - to play the part of action hero Jack Reacher, while the presenter took the role of the baddie.

"We are going to cast you in a Tom Cruise movie, this is a Jack Reacher film, I am one of the villains and you are Jack Reacher," he said.

"Because Jack Reacher does everything with his elbows and fists, so you are going to give me a right hook to the jaw."

Co-host Kate Garraway thought it looked so real that he'd actually been hurt during the role play, while Richard joked that Rocky had missed a “golden opportunity” to hit him for real.

Speaking of the importance of stunt actors, Rocky says he is pleased that their work is now finally being recognised.

He said: "People like Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan are very capable, but if they have an accident we can't replace them. We take the place of them in case it's dangerous.

"Years ago, stuntmen weren't recognised and if an actor had a double he wanted to pretend that he didn't, but now we are coming to the light."
