Richard and Judy's return to This Morning prompted a rather awkward moment when they were interviewing Ant and Dec.
The famous presenting duo were back presenting the show that earned them legions of fans in the '90s and were tasked with interviewing the Geordie lads about the return of their hit show Saturday Night Takeaway this weekend.
After a two-year absence and Ant's spell out of the spotlight following his drink driving conviction, Takeaway returns to ITV on Saturday and during their chat about the new series, Richard, 63, quizzed Ant and Dec on times their live TV shows have gone wrong, asking them: "Have you ever had a breakdown?"
Before they could answer, however, Richard cheekily added to Ant: "Not personally I mean..."
To stop things getting even more awkward, Ant and Dec laughed off Richard's blunder by responding: "Well, that has happened!"
But it didn't take long for viewers to pick up on Richard's choice of words, with one tweeting: "Richard Madeley just asked Ant if he'd ever had a breakdown."
Others loved having him and Judy back, with another posting: "Richard Madeley is a National treasure and should be protected at all costs."
Another person tweeted: "Richard Madeley is the gift that keeps on giving. Can’t stop watching."
Saturday Night Takeaway airs on ITV at 7pm on Saturday.
