Richard Madeley called out for 'disgusting' habit on Good Morning Britain

Richard Madeley is back presenting Good Morning Britain (GMB) but his appearance hasn't left everyone impressed.

Manchester Evening News reports the long standing TV presenter turned a few stomachs with one of his habits during a segment of yesterday's programme (Monday, September 21).

The controversial incident happened while Madeley was sat alongside Susanna Reid on ITV while the pair were sampling the new Greggs vegan breakfast menu.

The pair were set to try the vegan bacon rolls from the fast food bakery, but the crew member tasked with the job had an issue getting hold of them.

So instead, Susanna and Richard were given the vegan sausage rolls - but not the infamous ones Piers Morgan hated.

It came as they were about to speak to Great British Bake Off judge Prue Leith ahead of the new series which began last night.

The latest run features the first-ever vegan baker so they, therefore, put the new Greggs products to the test.

Richard, 61, quickly took a bite in order to offer his opinion. He said: "I'm just speaking as I find, its very dry and it doesn't taste very nice."

But it wasn't the flavour of the food that riled up the audience, but the way in which Richard delivered his verdict as he spoke with his mouth full.

One person tweeted: "Richard Madeley going full Partridge again as he interviews Prue Leith through a mouthful of vegan Greggs. # GMB."

Another fumed: "The problem was listening to Richard talk with mouth full; disgusting..be grateful for food some people don't have it Richard!!#gmb ((SIC) ."

A third wrote: "@GMB Bake off is back and RM eating a vegan roll and he calls it dry and tasteless that rings a bell."
