Richard Madeley branded stupid and heartless in GMB argument with Insulate Britain protestor

Good Morning Britain presenter Richard Madeley was branded "stupid and heartless" during a heated argument with Insulate protestor Tracey Mallaghan.

She appeared on the talk show defending Insulate Britain's campaign tactics of road blocks, as well as what the organisations goal is.

However, things got heated during the interview as Tracey was fed up with Richard interrupting her and grilling her with the same questions and branded him 'stupid and heartless' in a savage remark.

Richard slammed her for her refusal to answer questions and said: "Your technique, and it is a technique and you're obviously quite skilled at it, is never to answer questions.

"You simply come up with a series of questions of our own. And that is not an honest way to do an interview."

Fed up, Tracey responded: "All of our children are in trouble. You have to stop this. Are you too scared, heartless or are you stupid, Richard? Do you not understand?"

He responded: "You said that five times, I'm not stupid and I'm not heartless and I don't really like you patronising me."

Throughout the entire interview, the two had been clashing over the eco-protesters methods of campaigning.

It includes blocking road access and glueing body parts to the ground.

Things got heated at the beginning of the chat when Richard reminded her of a woman left paralysed after the eco-protesters blocked the M25 and preventer her son's car from reaching the hospital.

He then asked her how she would feel if it were her mother that suffered a stroke.

"So let me ask you personally, straightaway, what if that woman had been your mother?" he queried.

"Would you still think you've done the right thing if you put your mother into, basically, a coma?"

After being questioned by Richard again, she said: "If you know someone having a stroke phone an ambulance, that's the responsible method. You're going to let me finish, Richard."

She added after clashing with the presenter: "If it was my mom, of course, at the time I would be furious and heartbroken.

"But when you then go home, we have to look at the reality. Three to four years to save the future of humanity. Do you know what that means?"

Completely shocked, Richard asked: "So you'd allow your mother to have a near-fatal stroke?"

Ignoring Richard, Tracey went on to say that we have three to four years to save the future.

Richard was referring to a tragic incident that occurred last month where a mother was left paralysed after roads were blocked.

Chris, her son, said he was forced to watch his mother 'slip away' while they sat in traffic for six hours.

Good Morning Britain is on weekdays from 6am to 9am.
