Richard Madeley made his feelings about Prince Harry very clear as he hosted Good Morning Britain on Monday.
The 65-year-old joined Susanna Reid on the ITV show as they discussed the conflicting reports over whether Prince Harry & Meghan Markle asked the Queen if they could name their daughter Lillibet.
There are reports that the Queen wants any inaccurate statements to be corrected publicly, and the question now being asked is: Should the Royal Family ditch 'never complain, never explain'?
Richard and Susanna invited former royal editor Duncan Larcombe and Ateh Jewel onto the show to discuss it.
Ateh argued that times have changed and “being open and honest is always the best policy”.
She suggested the Royal Family should ditch the 'never complain, never explain' policy and instead be 'more open' with the public.
"I think it’s about being more open, making statements and I think a lot of the confusion would be cleared up," she said.
"I don't know if we necessarily want the Queen sitting down with Oprah, I wouldn't mind!"
But Richard made it clear that he disagreed with her and said: "I have to say, I take issue with you Ateh on this, I don’t really want to see any family washing their dirty linen in public.
"I agree that it’s important to talk and we all know that Harry has had acres of therapy and he’s had these conversations in private.
"But I don’t think it’s remotely appropriate for him to actually talk in the detail that he has, in public, about his grandparents and about his father."
The father-of-two continued: "I just don’t want to hear it and when I do, I’m embarrassed for that family because I know that I’d hate it, just as a family member myself, as a family man, I’d loathe it, it is deeply embarrassing."
