Richard Madeley looks younger than ever with blond hair and muscled legs

It looks like Richard Madeley has been using lockdown to hit the workouts as he displayed his trim, athletic figure.

The 64 year old headed out to the butchers near his home in Hampstead, making the most of the warm weather and rocking a classic shorts and T-shirt look.

He also picked up a newspaper, stopping in the street to have a flick through the day's headlines, before he got in his soft top car and drove away.

To complete the youthful ensemble, the This Morning star wore sandals and hung a pair of chunky shades from his collar.

Most noticeably, though, Richard is still owning his blond hair.

Fans reckoned he'd given into lockdown boredom by opting for golden locks, but Richard has insisted it's "completely natural".

He told the Mirror : "You don't have to believe me, but it's true. If I was dyeing my hair, I'm sure it would go green, I wouldn't know how to do it.

"I was born Boris blond. Ten years ago the grey started to come through and I began to notice in the summer, particularly in strong sunshine, the grey bits were going blond.

"As I've gone greyer, and I'm about 50% grey now, if I'm in the sun for a long time it will go blond. Before lockdown we were in Florida for two weeks."

Richard, along with wife and presenting partner Judy Finnigan, quit This Morning in 2001 to host their own show.

They recently made a return to Channel 4 after 12 years to help alleviate the lockdown blues, coming to viewers from their own home.

Richard and Judy: Keep Reading & Carry On hosted a number of authors and celeb guests to chat about what's going on in the literary world.

"It's no secret that Judy and I are avid readers," Richard said, "And we're excited to return to Channel 4 to share what we love with viewers."

Judy chimed in: "Books can transport you to incredible places from the comfort of your sofa and so there is no better time to share our picks for lockdown reads and hear from viewers, celebrities and authors about the books that have helped them whilst staying home."

Channel 4 described Richard and Judy as "the perfect duo" to remedy lockdown boredom.
