Richard Madden shares his brutal Game Of Thrones finale theory

Former Game of Thrones star Richard Madden doesn’t believe that any of the show’s main characters will survive the final series.

The actor revealed that he’s doubtful about whether any fan favourites will make it through to the last episode of the acclaimed HBO show, which is set to conclude next summer.

“I kind of think it’s just going to be three dragons flying around and everyone else is dead. It’s a possibility!” he told the Hollywood Reporter.

The 32-year-old actor played Robb Stark in seasons one to three of Game of Thrones, before his character met a bloody end in the infamous Red Wedding episode.

Theory: Richard Madden thinks

Madden, who recently earned a Golden Globe nomination for his performance in BBC One’s hit drama Bodyguard, added that he has become an avid viewer since leaving the show.

“I kind of don’t recognise that I was in it anymore because I’ve been watching so many years of it, and they talk about Robb Stark and I know how he is but I don’t see myself in that role,” he said. “I’m just a viewer now, which is so good.

“That was one of the bad things about being in the show, is you got the scripts so you knew what was going to happen next, and I’ve not had that for years, so now I can just truly enjoy it as a viewer, which is thrilling.”

Game of Thrones will come to a close next year, with the eighth season set to arrive on screens in April 2019.
