Richard Madden reveals he’s open to playing a ‘Bond Boy’ alongside a female version of 007

Richard Madden has revealed he would be open to the prospect of becoming a "Bond boy" alongside a female version of James Bond.

The Bodyguard actor revealed he is not opposed to the idea as he feels there would be an “interesting dynamic” between the two characters.

Speaking in an interview with Vogue, Madden explained: “If it was a good part. If it was an interesting part, a Bond Boy would be an interesting dynamic. Why not?”

Madden has paved himself as the frontrunner against slew of actors who have been tipped as potential candidates for the next 007 icon.

His Bodyguard co-star Keeley Hawes backed the calls for him to take over from Daniel Craig, who is set to hang up his bowtie after Bond 25 after five films in the role.

Hawes said she felt the Scottish actor would make a “phenomenal” Bond.

Earlier this year, Hawes told the Radio Times: “I said to Richard while we were shooting, ‘This is like James Bond!' I would love to see Richard playing James Bond; I would love that. I think he would be phenomenal.”

Last year Madden admitted he was “flattered” to be linked to the character but has kept tight-lipped on it in a bid to prevent “cursing anything”.

He previously told GQ: “I’m more than flattered to be mentioned, for people to consider putting me in that role.

"I’m very flattered and thankful. It’s a really brilliant thing to be in.

“I don’t want to curse anything by saying anything. I think that’s the curse of that. If you talk about anything, you’ll curse it.”
