Richard Keys thinks Nottingham Forest are 'in trouble' and predicts 'more drama'

Pundit Richard Keys has been scathing about Nottingham Forest already this season, branding their transfer business a “ridiculous signing frenzy” and the summer additions “mercenaries”.

He even weighed in on Jesse Lingard’s move from Manchester United, asking “how on earth can he choose Forest over West Ham?”. Now, the former Sky Sports presenter is predicting a tumultuous period for the club after a tricky start to life back in the top flight.

Steve Cooper’s side sit in the Premier League bottom three with just one win to show from their opening seven games. That victory came in their first home game back in the top flight courtesy of a 1-0 success over West Ham.

Three successive home defeats have since followed, the most recent of which saw fellow newly promoted club Fulham leave the City Ground with the spoils. And, with just a point coming on their travels, Keys fears Forest's struggles on the pitch could lead to major upheaval behind the scenes.

Writing on his blog, Keys said: “Forest are in trouble. I said pre-season the key for them would be winning home games. But they’re not doing that. I expect a whole lot more drama at the club yet.”

Forest return to Premier League action on Monday, October 3 when they travel to fellow strugglers Leicester City. Their next home game is against Aston Villa a week later.
