Richard Keys has called for Premier League referees chief Mike Riley to resign following the amount of poor VAR decisions this term.
The officiating system was again under scrutiny on Thursday after Manchester United had a controversial penalty call upheld.
Jose Mourinho also lamented the decision not to award Harry Kane what looked like a stonewall penalty at Bournemouth.
It is the latest in a long line of poor decisions with officials admitting wrong calls have been made.
And Keys, now of BeIN Sports, called for Riley to leave his post.
He said: "I would like to publicly call on Mike Riley to stand aside. He's been obstinate, difficult and wrong all season about the decisions made in the Premier League."
FIFA will take over control of the laws implemented in England's top flight next term.
And Andy Gray, Keys' co-host, admits that the Premier League's "rogue" rules do not work.
He said: "You cannot play football at this level, play it all over the world to one set of laws and then have one rogue league - the Premier League - doing their own thing. It just doesn't work.
"It shouldn't have been allowed to happen. It did happen.
"We might not like it and its going to cause a lot of problems next year particularly with penalties, they will be an awful lot of penalties given that we don't agree with.
"Goalkeepers on lines - that will all change and we'll fall in line with what's happening in FIFA and I'm happy with that."
