Richard Jefferson calls out Warriors for not ‘running it back’ after ’16

The feelings and memories of the 2016 NBA Champion Cleveland Cavaliers came flooding back to the surface on Sunday night as the Cavaliers honored Channing Frye on Sunday afternoon ahead of his retirement at the end of the season.

One of the folks who went back to Cleveland to soak in the dedication to Frye was his buddy and fellow 2016 Cavs teammate Richard Jefferson, who had some interesting things to say about what followed the 2016 Championship that instantly changed the NBA.

Jefferson says that the Warriors did not “run it back” as one would in a pick-up game situation in a park or an open gym.

Kevin Durant caught wind of Jefferson’s comments as well.

With Kevin Durant entering free agency this summer and the Lakers holding a contract that could hold him, I wouldn’t hold my breath to wait for LeBron to respond to all of this.

Meanwhile, Sunday night is the final regular season game ever at Oracle Arena, where the Cavs won their only championship.
