Richard Desmond has launched a new magazine, OK! Mum and Baby. It will be devoted to news and pictures of celebrity mothers and their offspring.

The bi-annual mag is a spin-off from Northern & Shell’s OK! magazine. According to a publicity release, it will be “tapping into and expanding on OK! readers’ love of all things baby!”

It quotes OK! mag’s editor, Kirsty Tyler, as saying that her magazine is “renowned for its celebrity pregnancy and baby photo shoots”, listing examples like Jennifer Lopez, Jerry Hall, Pamela Anderson and Catherine Zeta Jones.

The mum and baby mag will not be a stand-alone publication. Instead, it will be bagged with OK! twice a year. In addition, the company is planning to host events in order that readers can meet the OK! celebrity mums.

Before consumers of Desmond’s other media outlets, such as Red Hot TV and Television X, get the wrong message, I must point out that OK! Mum and Baby is not related to his best-known magazine, Asian Babes.
