Good Morning Britain's Richard Bacon forced to respond to fan complaint live on air

Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid was joined by guest presenter Richard Bacon on the show on Thursday, with ITV viewers thrilled to see him.

But Susanna did confess that during the gig, he had received a complaint from a fan of the show.

It wasn’t actually to do with his presenting method or him being there, but in fact linked to his glasses.

Susanna announced to Richard on the show that viewers had been commenting on how much they were enjoying his presenting stint.

But she then revealed that one viewer had noticed something that left them a little frustrated.

Susanna said: “We’ve had a complaint,” adding a viewer said: “Loving Richard Bacon. What’s up with the glasses?

“On and then off, and then on and then off. It’s so annoying.”

Richard joked they had run out of time, before deciding to address the reason for his habit.

He said: “Oh that, well do you know what, I’m new to wearing glasses. I do need them for reading.

“I’m a little bit unsure, but what do you think? Shall I leave them on or off?”

But Susanna told Richard not to worry, encouraging him to ignore the complaint and keep wearing his glasses how he wanted to.

She said: “I think needs must. If you need them to read your notes, use them to read your notes.”

Richard was quick to point out that didn’t solve the complaint, with Susanna adding: “No, I think [the viewer] might have to just live with it. Sorry, about that”

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
