Richard Agar's verdict on Jack Broadbent following Leeds Rhinos youngster's eye-catching performance

Richard Agar was full of praise for youngster Jack Broadbent following his strong showing on Sunday.

Broadbent was among Leeds' best performers as he produced an eye-catching display that potentially put him in contention for the Rhinos' Super League opener against Wakefield next week.

The Batley-born talent started at centre, scoring a 75-metre breakaway try, before transitioning to fullback, where he also impressed.

It was his communication at the back that stood out from the stands, though Agar said that wasn't a surprise to those who have seen him regularly in training.

"Jack's a player that brings that to training every day," Agar said.

"Whether it's the smallest skill drill or hand-eye drill. His professionalism and attitude, talk, communication, it is the norm for him.

"He's just a super young professional who plays in multiple roles and knows his role whichever role he does. I was pleased to see him get away for his try, I thought with Jermaine McGillvary it was going to be a foot race, Jermaine is no slouch, I know Jack had a start on him but I'm pleased that Jack managed to carry that through.

"He's a super young professional. His talk and communication is like that every day at work."
