Richard Agar picks out group of Leeds Rhinos players for pre-season praise as coach looks to the future

Richard Agar has praised the progress of Leeds Rhinos' young stars following the opening month of pre-season training.

Agar has watched on as the next crop of talent emerging through the Headingley system has continued to flourish during early preparations for 2022.

Last season saw a number of players enjoy excellent breakthrough years, with Jack Broadbent and Morgan Gannon just two to make their mark while other young players such as Harry Newman and Tom Holroyd continued to improve.

Leeds hope their trajectories will continue to go north. On early evidence, Agar is confident that will be the case.

"A special mention to our younger players," Agar said when asked what had been his highlight of pre-season so far.

"We just feel we've such a talented crop of kids, but also outstanding young men and great young professionals.

"I just think from a succession point of view, I think the club is in a healthy place with the calibre of player that is coming through from an academy standpoint. I think it's a really exciting and promising time that bodes well for our future."
