Richard Agar outlines 'ideal' Leeds Rhinos recruitment plans after David Fusitu'a capture

Richard Agar believes Leeds Rhinos' recruitment drive for 2022 is finished following the capture of David Fusitu'a.

The Rhinos confirmed the capture of the Tonga international on Monday, their fourth major piece of business ahead of the upcoming season.

He will arrive alongside James Bentley, Aidan Sezer and Blake Austin in a recruitment drive that has seen the Rhinos sign players on considerable wages.

The arrival of Fusitu'a has seen the Rhinos take up a considerable chunk of the remaining budget they had under the salary cap and while Agar admitted he would like one more addition, he believes his squad is now finalised for 2022.

"That'll be us for now," he said.

"In an ideal world we'd like a bigger-bodied middle but as we've always said we're happy to provide a pathway for our younger kids. I think our squad has a healthy balance about it and plenty of quality. The four incoming players in Aidan, Blake, James and David are all high quality who will add to the squad.

"We think we've been able to improve the squad. In an ideal world, we'd love another, but we live under a salary cap and for that reason any further recruitment is going to be very difficult for us."
