Rhys Bonner's grieving mum vows to never stop fight for justice one year after his disappearance

A heartbroken Glasgow mum has vowed to never stop fighting for answers to her son's tragic death, one year after his disappearance.

19-year-old Rhys Bonner was last seen on July 24, 2019, with his disappearance sparking a major search.

15 days later, his body was found half naked on marsh ground between Easterhouse and Gartloch Village.

His mum Stephanie Bonner still does not know the circumstances surrounding his death and on the anniversary of the last time she saw her son has said she will never stop fighting for him.

Stephanie has an outstanding complaint with the police about the investigation into her son's death, but the force has insisted the incident was fully investigated and no criminality established.

Police Scotland insists that Rhys' death was thoroughly investigated and she has been kept informed throughout.

Mum-of-six Stephanie said: "I will never stop fighting for justice. I should hear an update on the complaint at the end of the month.

"Thank you for keeping my boy in your hearts. If anyone knows anything, please come forward, I don't care if it takes the next year or the next 10, I will never stop."

Stephanie has also joined forces with Norah McCluskey, whose son Johnny Connelly was body discovered in the Forth and Clyde canal at Speirs Wharf just days before Rhys went missing, to create the Mothers Fighting For Justice Facebook group.

In an emotional post in the group, Stephanie said: "A full year we have not seen our Rhys. My son, my wee boy went out a year ago and never stood a chance of getting home.

"He lay alone for two whole weeks. Mummy is so sorry my boy and I will fight with everything to get you justice - Mummy, Daddy, your baby brother, ️your sisters Ellie, Paige and Calli. We love you my boy. My heart is broke until we meet again."
