RHOC star Kelly Dodd sparks outrage after saying coronavirus is 'God's way of thinning the herd'

A Real Housewives of Orange County star has sparked outrage for claiming coronavirus is a deliberate act of God.

Kelly Dodd has been forced to apologise after saying the deadly bug is "God's way of thinning the herd".

She made the shocking comments on Instagram after she was criticised for traveling from New York to California during the pandemic.

Kelly ranted: "If it's dangerous why are the airlines still flying. You think I want to fly? I had to get back how is that elitist??

"People are so judgmental it's sick!! That many die anyway!! They would've died this year they were compromised !!"

She continued: "Do you know how many people died from the h1n1 the swine flu or SARS??

"It's 25 per cent get your facts straight you are only hearing numbers not the reality!! It's God's way of thinning the herd!!

"If you are vulnerable or compromised stay inside if you don't protect others by wearings masks and gloves keep your distance and don't go out if you are ill!! It's common sense."

After the comment caused outrage on social media Kelly took to her Instagram stories to apologise.

She said: "I want to give a public apology. When I wrote this is 'God's way of thinning the herd,' that's not what I meant.

"What I meant was, do these pandemics happen because it's God’s way? I'm not God, I'm not insensitive.

"I feel bad for all the families who have lost loved ones. And I do think we should all stay home and protect everybody.

"That's not what I meant, and I want to apologise to anybody who got offended. I’m sorry."

Kelly then shared a video of herself at the doctor's office showing she tested negative for coronavirus.

But she vowed to keep herself inside.
