Masked Singer fans are declaring the guessing game is 'over' as far as Rhino is concerned, having known who he is for weeks.
One of the acts who has impressed both the panel and viewers at home the most, since the new series started in January, Rhino is in action on Saturday's Masked Singer semi final, with bookies confident that he'll advance through to next week's final. And, as well as having him as a hot tip to win, experts and fans are in agreement and have been for a while now, that it is Charlie Simpson inside the Rhino costume.
Charlie shot to fame back in 2002 as one of Busted and his vocals have always been distinctive, as part of Busted and Fightstar and in his solo career. So it took just a minute of Rhino's first performance for many fans to believe it was Charlie behind the mask and since then, if it is Charlie, he hasn't really made any attempt to disguise his voice.
After Rita came close to rumbling Charlie, by guessing Charlie Puth, Davina McCall finally guessed at Charlie last weekend, with other tell tale clues also emerging from Rhino's latest VT. One which landed on many people's radar was the appearance of Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn, both known for their roles in Wedding Crashers. And that immediately set up an obvious link to Busted's number 1 hit Crashed The Wedding.
There was 'confirmation' for Fightstar fans in the clue package thanks to a shot of a target, a clear nod to the rock band's track Paint Your Target.
And, while Charlie hasn't been active on his Instagram grid since New Year's Day, his old posts have now been flooded with comments of people declaring that he is Rhino. Reacting to the most recent clues, one follower posted: "I just screamed at the Paint your target clue on masked singer, I knew it from the first week!! "
