Rhian Brewster transfer latest as Sheffield United prepare to include Liverpool clause

Sheffield United are in pole position to sign Rhian Brewster as they continue talks with Liverpool over a permanent deal.

Blades boss Chris Wilder has spoken to Jurgen Klopp personally and the Yorkshire outfit are prepared to offer £17million for Brewster.

They are also prepared to accept Liverpool’s demand to include a buy-back clause in his transfer deal, which is helping the talks.

The Reds would prefer more than £17million for the England Under-21 striker, who has made just four senior appearances under Klopp, and negotiations are on-going.

Diogo Jota’s arrival has pushed Brewster down the pecking order of strikers at Anfield and Liverpool are prepared to cash in on him this summer.

Wilder is very keen to land Brewster, who netted 10 times on loan for Swansea last season, and feels he could boost the Blades’ flagging fire power.

His side have failed to score in their opening three league games for the first time in United’s history.

Crystal Palace also like Brewster and are monitoring his situation, but they have yet to bid for the 21-year-old.

It is understood Brewster would be interested in a move back to his native London and he was at Chelsea ’s academy before joining Liverpool in 2015, aged 14.

However United are in the driving seat and they are the club closest to reaching an agreement with Liverpool.
