Rhian Brewster sends poignant message after Liverpool beat Tottenham in Champions League final

It was a time for celebration after Liverpool beat Tottenham Hotspur at the Wanda Metropolitano to lift their sixth European Cup on Saturday night.

As Jurgen Klopp 's side celebrated on the pitch, Reds fans all over Madrid, back on Merseyside and across the rest of the globe couldn't contain themselves.

The party continued back to Liverpool as 750,000 people took to the streets to welcome back their heroes and catch a glimpse of the European Cup during the Reds' open top bus parade.

However, young striker Rhian Brewster took a moment away from the celebrations to remember the 96 Liverpool fans who lost their lives in the Hillsborough disaster 30 years ago.

The 19-year-old is yet to make a senior appearance for the Reds because of injury but was named on the substitutes' bench for their victories over Barcelona and Tottenham, picking up a winner's medal in the process.

And in a touching tribute, the England youth international tweeted 'Something for the 96' with a picture of his medal over his shoulder, focusing on the 96 emblem on the back of his Liverpool shirt in memory of the club's fallen fans.
