Rhian Brewster makes scoring return to action for Liverpool as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain watches on

Rhian Brewster scored on his return to action for Liverpool in a friendly at the club's Kirkby Academy on Friday afternoon.

The 18-year-old striker has been sidelined since January 2018 after undergoing both knee and ankle operations, but has recently returned to full training.

Brewster's return to action represents another boost to Jurgen Klopp after Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain made his comeback from a long-term injury against Derby County U23s earlier this month.

And Oxlade-Chamberlain was watching on from the sidelines as Brewster capped his return with two goals in a 45-minute appearances against Illinois outfit Northwestern University.

Brewster needed just six minutes to find the net, scoring a curling effort from outside the penalty area to put the Reds ahead.

The Reds have high hopes for the striker, who claimed his second before being substituted at half-time.

Scottish youngster Tony Gallacher also scored twice as Neil Critchley's side triumphed 4-0.
