Rhian Brewster makes Premier League title admission and explains simple plan for Liverpool future

Rhian Brewster says his Swansea loan deal prevented him from celebrating Liverpool's Premier League title triumph properly - but described seeing his team-mates crowned champions as a "great feeling".

Brewster joined the Swans in January and impressed with 11 goals in 22 appearances under his former England Under-17 boss Steve Cooper.

His goals helped the Welsh side to the playoff semi-finals and after making a big impact at the Liberty Stadium, the England Under-21 striker has reported to his parent club for pre-season duty in Austria with a renewed determination to succeed at Anfield.

Discussing the night Liverpool were officially declared Premier League champions on June 25 when Manchester City were beaten 2-1 by Chelsea, Brewster explained that Swansea duty meant the celebrations were subdued on his part.

But the youngster did reveal his delight at seeing his colleagues rewarded for their hard work across an incredible Premier League season.

“I was in my apartment in Swansea, watching on TV," he told Liverpoolfc.com. "I think we had a game a couple of days later, so there wasn’t any partying, but I was happy for the boys and happy to then see them lift the trophy.

“Liverpool fans have been waiting 30 years for it and now [the dream] has finally come true.

"Seeing how happy it made the boys and the fans was a great feeling. Obviously I know the boys, I know how they are, so watching them lift it was great.

“I was busy on my phone that night, I sent a message to everybody!”

After such an excellent second half of the season in the Championship, Brewster returns with a spring in his step and says he is hoping to catch the eye of Jurgen Klopp at their training camp in Saalfelden.

He added: “It feels good to maybe be a part of it next season. Being away and then coming back, it’s a bit different, but seeing everyone again, seeing them all smiling and coming back confident, it’s good to be back.

“The plan for me is to work hard every day and see what happens from there,” he states.

“Seeing them win the title was great and now to be back here, with them, is amazing. It’s good to be among it again.”
