Reynolds targets Broncos title, contract extension

Adam Reynolds is keen to extend his stay at Brisbane and says being surrounded by premiership-winning legends at the Broncos inspires him to try and emulate them.

The 32-year-old Brisbane skipper won the 2014 premiership at South Sydney but is not satisfied with that.

Ahead of the 'Battle of Brisbane' clash with the Dolphins at the Gabba on Saturday night, Reynolds - on contract until the end of 2024 - said playing on until he was 35 remains on his agenda.

The Broncos have won six premierships, the most recent in 2006, and each day at Red Hill he works alongside former title-winning captains in current coach Kevin Walters and his assistant Allan Langer.

Reynolds' immediate focus is helping the second-placed Broncos respond well to last Sunday's 18-12 loss to Gold Coast but he remains keen to extend his time with the club.

"I've still got another year left and hopefully another one or two after that," Reynolds said.

"I am in no rush (but) it's something I would love to get sorted.

"I love the city, I love the club. It's in a good place at the moment and I want to continue that rise."

The halfback is keen to play his part in breaking the Broncos' 17-year premiership drought.

"You look at the history on the walls and look at the people still involved in the club, the coach, Alfie (Langer) ... Darius Boyd is still there," he said.

"There's a number of ex-legends still getting around and it (creates) an aura.

"To add another piece of history to the place would be one of the best goals of my career."

At the Rabbitohs, the young Reynolds forged a winning combination with halves partner Luke Keary.

Now, as a veteran, he lines up alongside light-stepping 20-year-old Ezra Mam, with whom he has also forged a successful partnership.

"He keeps me young, or makes me older, I don't know," Reynolds grinned.

"We have got such great depth in the squad, a lot of young guys have come through that pathway system.

"Reece Walsh is only 20 years old. There's a lot of babies in the squad that are still learning the game.

"If I can add my two cents and give them some experiences, I am happy to go out there and give them some knowledge.

"I love that teaching part of the game and getting out there with them as well."
