Reynolds all clear for Supercars return

A fully vaccinated David Reynolds will be back on the Supercars grid for this weekend's event at Sydney Motorsport Park.

Reynolds has missed the past two weekends after his COVID-19 vaccination exemption was rejected by NSW health officials.

Since being sidelined at the start of the month, the 2017 Bathurst 1000 champion has been fully vaccinated and his return was confirmed in a brief statement by Kelly Grove Racing on Thursday.

"David is fully vaccinated and has fulfilled the requirements by NSW Health and Supercars to participate in this season's penultimate event," the statement said.

Not only will Reynolds' return allow him to take part in this weekend's racing, it also ensures he'll be able to participate in the season-ending Bathurst 1000 at Mount Panorama on December 5.

In Reynolds' absence, Luke Youlden raced his Penrith Racing Ford Mustang over the past fortnight with a best finish of 11th in the six sprint races he took part in.

Youlden will return to partner Reynolds at Bathurst in the same pairing which claimed the Great Race four years ago with Erebus Motorsport.
