CHICAGO _ White Sox pitcher Reynaldo Lopez surrendered a homer to Indians shortstop Francisco Lindor on the third pitch Monday at Guaranteed Rate Field.
The right-hander didn't allow another hit until the sixth inning.
Lopez was locked in, allowing just the two hits in 7 2/3 innings to lead the Sox to a 5-2 victory in front of 16,471 fans.
Lopez allowed one earned run, struck out six and walked two. Lopez and relievers Aaron Bummer and Alex Colome combined on the two-hitter.
Lopez (3-4) received offensive support in the form of four homers, including two from third baseman Yoan Moncada, as the Sox won their third consecutive game.
Lindor provided the early pop for the Indians, leading off the game with a home run to right field.
The Sox answered with a solo homer by Jose Abreu to center in the bottom of the inning. It was his 10th homer of the season.
Welington Castillo gave the Sox the lead with a solo homer to left-center in the second; it was his third homer this season.
The Indians tied the game in the third when Lindor drove in a run with a sacrifice fly. The Sox regained the lead in the bottom of the inning with another solo home run, this time by Moncada.
Moncada, who had three hits, hit his second homer of the game in the sixth. He has nine homers.
The Sox added another run in the seventh on an RBI double by Yolmer Sanchez. Castillo and Sanchez both had two hits.
That was plenty for Lopez, who got stronger as the game went along.
The Indians didn't get their second hit until a single by Lindor leading off the sixth. It was their last hit of the game.
Lopez struck out the final batter in that inning and then struck out the side in the seventh.
Lopez entered the day with a 6.38 ERA and lowered it to 5.58. Indians starter Shane Bieber (2-2) allowed five runs and seven hits in 6 1/3 innings.
Colome pitched a scoreless ninth for his eight save.
