Rex Ryan says he’d take Redskins job

Speculation as to who will replace the Jay Gruden as the next Washington Redskins head coach has been rampant since the team announced the move earlier this week.

Random names like Mike Tomlin have been a point of speculation — Rex Ryan’s, not so much.

He’s throwing his name in anyway.

“Of course,” Ryan said, (h/t Earl Forcey of WJFK). “I would take it. . . . People are going to be lined up for this job.”

While some might think the Redskins will have a hard time finding their desired next head coach, Ryan is somewhat right — there are just 32 of these jobs. Generally, candidates are going to jump all over almost any opening.

Whether the Redskins would consider Ryan is hard to say, His brother, Rob, is already there.

Rex last coached in 2016 in Buffalo and has a career 61-66 record.
