Rex Ryan challenging Colin Cowherd for his crown of biggest Baker Mayfield hater

Fox Sports media personality Colin Cowherd has established himself as the preeminent anti-Baker Mayfield voice in the sports talk world. Cowherd has devoted hours of his radio program to slamming the Browns QB for being (at various points): overhyped, immature, weak-minded, unprofessional, shallow and overwhelmed.

Cowherd has a challenger for the crown of biggest Baker hater: former NFL coach Rex Ryan.

Ryan slammed Mayfield this week, calling him “overrated as hell” on ESPN’s First Take. He doubled down on that take on Sunday.

“Baker Mayfield better be happy I’m not in the black and purple today on that sideline, ’cause he’d be in trouble,” Ryan said on ESPN’s Sunday Countdown program. “Here’s one thing I know about Baker Mayfield: Unlike any other quarterback in the National Football League, he’s got two Pro Bowl receivers that he’s throwing to. No other team can say that. They’ve got two of them. By the way, this offensive line that’s been much-maligned, they’re ranked second in pass protection. So I don’t get it. Where’s the correlation? He’s been sacked the fourth-most times in the NFL, so something’s not jiving.”

Mayfield and the Browns sorely need a strong performance to stop this madness.
