YAMUNANAGAR: The police have announced a reward of Rs 5 lakh for providing information regarding the miscreants who shot dead a driver of a trading company and robbed him off about Rs 50 lakh near a private bank in Yamunanagar city on Tuesday.
Shrawan Kumar of Old Hamida Colony, Yamunanagar was shot dead by two motorcycle-borne miscreants, who managed to flee away with cash, which he had gone to deposit in the bank. Shrawan worked as driver with Bansal Trading Company, owned by Ajay Bansal of Professor Colony, Yamunanagar.
Yamunanagar superintendent of police (SP) Kamaldeep Goyal said, "Any person who provides the information about the two miscreants who committed this murder and robbery, we will give him reward of Rs 5 lakh by maintaining his anonymity. The informer can share information on my official number 8818000100."
We are investigating this case seriously with the help of all technical or human resources and investigation methods. A DSP rank officer and I am myself supervising this investigation. Our crime investigation agencies are constantly working to apprehend the miscreants who committed this offence."
Yamunanagar SP said, "We have decided to depute 23 motorcycles, on which, an armed policeman and a homeguard will keep a vigil on the crime especially taking place near the banks. They will remain deputed in the city and a central control room has been set up. The residents can avail the services of these 23 motorcycles by calling at our control room and our policemen will escort their vehicles, if they want the policeman can also sit in their vehicle and the residents can also go to bank on the deputed motorcycle."
The SP said that this service will be started from Thursday onwards and the contact numbers will be released through media.
