Revolution Bars toasts sales jump as customers embrace post-lockdown socialising

People heading out to enjoy cocktails post-lockdown has helped Revolution Bars Group to enjoy trading well ahead of expectations.

The bar chain said between July 19 and October 2 it recorded comparable sales that were 17% above the same period two years ago, before the Covid-19 crisis.

It has 67 sites, and at its 56 branches in England there was like for like growth of 21%.

The hospitality sector was able to fully reopen in July, and Revolution Bars, which is led by Rob Pitcher, has re-commenced a refurbishment programme across parts of its estate. It added that costs have continued to be well controlled.

The AIM-listed company said: “Whilst confident in the outlook for the business in the current trading environment, the board remains cautious of the potential impact of an escalation of Covid-19 and any associated restrictions on the business in the upcoming key trading months, including corporate Christmas parties.”

The shares edged up 0.5p to 23p.
