Revolut issues reminder to some Irish customers as major change just weeks away

Revolut has issued a reminder to some customers as the company makes some major changes to its service in Ireland.

Following its official launch as a bank earlier this year, Revolut announced one date that customers should be aware of if they wish to continue to use their Revolut card in stores.

Customers will need to update their current, older card to continue to use its services in the coming months, as these will cease to work after June 21.

In an email, the company said: "We got in touch not long ago to let you know we've made some changes to improve your card payment experience.

"We want you to benefit from these changes, so don't forget to order your free replacement debit card…"

It added that existing cards will continue to work until June 21 and that it would be issuing a warning before they stop working.

"Your Revolut account and any other Revolut cards you have will still work as normal," it said.

"Order your free replacement cards and we'll deliver them to an address that suits you in any of the 150+ countries we deliver to. Track your delivery in app and remember to add your card to Apple Pay or Google Pay to start using it straight away."

If a customer did not receive a communication from Revolut, there is no need to order a new card or take any action.

In other news, Revolut has also said that they are "updating and simplifying the fee schedule" to continue offering low international transfer fees to customers while covering costs.

Over the past year, Revolut has launched 12 new currencies, primarily across Asia and Latin America, with at least ten more underway.

A Revolut spokesperson said: "Premium and Metal fee-free monthly allowances for international transfers will be replaced with a discount of 20% and 40%, respectively, regardless of how many international transfers a customer sends per month.

"We have a price calculator on our website and in-app, which allows customers to see exactly how much they would pay for any given transfer, and how much the recipient would receive.

"We are in the process of building a new tool that will allow customers to compare Revolut's fees with other providers and will share an update with you when it is live."
