Revolut 'homes' feature launched in Ireland: You can now book holiday home through banking app

Fintech company Revolut is taking on popular holiday home rental services - and the difference is that you can even get some cashback on your stay.

Revolut, the global financial superapp with more than 20 million customers worldwide, has launched the new holiday home feature ‘Homes’.

The new feature will be offered in its growing range of travel services offered, including hotels, travel insurance, and currency exchange.

Today, 20+ million customers around the world use dozens of Revolut’s innovative products to make more than 250 million transactions a month.

Homes is an extension of Revolut’s accommodation booking feature Stays, which launched last July to take on the likes of Expedia and Booking.com.

Revolut recently announced that its accommodation booking feature Stays has given over €1.5 million in cashback to customers globally.

Homes is available in the UK and Europe and customers pay for a holiday home through the Revolut app.

From splitting the bill with friends to great currency exchange rates, Revolut Homes has everything holiday-goers need to supercharge their accommodation.

Customers can open Stays in their Revolut app from the home screen or the hub, select their dates and location and then browse from the wide range of Homes available.

They can use the filter to find everything they need - such as pet-friendly accommodation, or those with a dedicated workstation - and then simply book and pay.

Commenting on the new Homes feature, General Manager of Lifestyle Products at Revolut, Christopher Guttridge, said: “When it comes to travel, we know that our customer’s needs are changing more and more. Big or small, budget or bougie, local homes or chic-hotels - our customers want to book any kind of place, all in one place.

Whether it’s digital nomads working abroad, large families travelling together under one roof, or couples looking for a home away from home, we’re delighted to add Homes to our global superapp to deliver hassle-free homes, hotels and hostels with effortless cashback.”

In July, Revolut celebrated its 7th anniversary, and the Digital banking app has reached a milestone of 20 million retail customers globally.

Revolut previously wanted to set up its Western European Business Hub in Dublin, but withdrew an application to the Central Bank for a full-banking licence.

The popular company had allegedly missed a deadline in September to file the annual return with the Companies Registration Office.

While the plan to make Dublin the Western Hub, the company continues to support its 1.9 million Irish customers under its full European Banking licence.
