Revolut co-founder donates €100,000 after Late Late Toy Show appeal raises over €3 million

One of the founders of Revolut has donated a whopping €100,000 to the Late Late Toy Show appeal.

Over €3 million was raised for children's charities on Friday night during the screening of one of Ireland's biggest annual TV celebrations.

Vlad Yatsenko, who co-founded Revolut, said he personally donated €100,000 and will match any donations made this weekend up to €1 million.

He said on Twitter: "What an incredible support @RevolutApp customers gave to a worthy charity @RTELateLateShow!

"Granted, there were some challenges at the peek of the live campaign. So, I've personally donated €100K, and will also match any further donations this weekend via @RevolutApp up to €1M."

Viewers trying to donate to the charity were hit by technical difficulties after the Revolut app crashed last night.

Revolut apologised for the inconvenience caused to those trying to use the link.

They tweeted: "We're aware of an issue affecting some of the functionalities.

"Our engineers are on the case and we'll get it sorted as soon as we can.

"We're really sorry for the trouble."
