Revolting scenes after horse poo and other rubbish found dumped in Dublin stream

Dublin residents were left disgusted after horse poo and other rubbish was found dumped in a Dublin stream on Sunday.

Hardworking volunteers from Dodder Action and Tallaght Litter Mugs were in the middle of their monthly clean of the Jobstown stream when they discovered two blockages, one of which was "large and stinking".

They were horrified to discover someone had dumped an enormous pile of horse poo as well as other items like bedding, carpet, lino, plastic bottles, and numerous empty cans of dog food.

Speaking on Facebook, the Dodder Action page, a spokesperson said: "A small group from Dodder Action and Tallaght Litter Mugs were in Jobstown this morning to help with Jobstown Stream Action Group’s monthly clean.

"At first sight the stream looked much cleaner than on previous visits, but we came across two blockages, the second of which was large and stinking.

"Somebody is regularly cleaning out their horse’s stable and dumping the contents in the stream.

"Caught up in the pile of bedding (and horse sh*t) was carpet, lino, plastic bottles amd numerous empty cans of dog food.

"We encounter this problem every time we’re there, but today it was particularly bad. It really is time South Dublin County Council dealt with the perpetrator(s)."

The Jobstown stream is one of the main tributaries of River Dodder.
