Review: Since the heady days of Colin McCrae Rally 2.0 on the Playstation, Rally games have been ten-a-penny, but Codemasters have really delivered with their latest installment.

Rally games are one of two things – rock hard or rubbish.

Games in the past have served us with so many different varieties of the above that gamers must be wondering, ‘Why another?’

Review : Yoshi Switches things up in world-class adventure

Then Codemasters hits us with the answer and delivers probably the best rally game I’ve ever played and equally the most challenging, which makes it as frustrating as it is fun.

The game is a direct upgrade from DIRT rally, which was released in 2015, and with the prospect of 55 new cars and eight completely new tracks to race around, it is brimming with brilliance. Just make sure you listen to your co-driver, or you’re done for.

Review: Days Gone which is exclusive to the PS4 has proved that it was worth the wait.

PS4 Pro and Xbox One X players get a 4K resolution at 60fps and Xbox One S and PS4 players will get 1080p at 60fps and, boy, does it show on the tracks and cars with the deep muddy indents left on the road from previous racers filling with water and causing all sorts of mayhem when you’re rattling along at over 100mph (not advisable if you want to stay on the track).

Review: Stephen continues his love affair with the Devil May Cry series of games and is just as impressed with number 5 as he was with all the others..maybe even more

Gameplay was ridiculously hard until I tickled the settings just enough to get going in the game but not enough to feel as if I was cheating. Ahem.

The scenery is gorgeous and hits you with a weather cycle that most Scots should be used to, four seasons in one day.

But, as I mentioned the roads will be tricky no matter how sunny it is after the deluge of rain.

A shiny new interface also is a welcome reprieve from the last outing and sees animated maps and also some raw footage of each rally that you come across, but all you are doing is prolonging the inevitable crash and burn from the first few hours of play.

I guarantee when you get round your first track without wiping out you will be hooked.
