Revenue seize more than 2.5kg of herbal cannabis worth €57,000 with help of detector dog Luca in Dublin Airport

More than 2.5 kgs of herbal cannabis has been seized by Revenue in Dublin Airport.

The drugs, worth over €57,000, were found as part of an intelligence led operation.

And hard-working Revenue detector dog Luca was on hand to assist as a 27-year-old UK national who was travelling to Barcelona, Spain was stopped by officials.

A Revenue spokesman said: "Yesterday (24/07/2019), as a result of an intelligence led operation, Revenue officers in Dublin Airport seized over 2.5kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated street value of over €57,000.

"The illegal drugs were found, with the assistance of detector dog Luca, when Revenue officers stopped and searched the checked baggage of a 27 year old UK national, who was travelling to Barcelona, Spain.

"Investigations are ongoing with a view to prosecution."
