Revenue seized €1 million worth of tobacco and cigarettes in Dublin Port on Thursday evening.
Officers at the Port seized 1.4 tonnes of processed tobacco that had arrived into the port in a shipment from China.
The tobacco alone had a retail value of over €815,000, representing a loss to the Exchequer of €721,000.
'MB Blue' and 'Benson & Hedges' cigarettes with a retail value of €234,000 were also seized.
This followed on from a seizure earlier in September of 432,000 cigarettes in Dublin Port.
Investigations are ongoing as Revenue continues to target the shadow economy and the supply and sale of illegal tobacco products.
