Revenue detector dogs, Bailey and Sam, find nearly €70,000 worth of drugs in Dublin

Two clever revenue detector dogs, Bailey and Sam, found illegal drugs worth €68,800 at the Dublin Mail Centre.

The hardworking pooches helped Revenue officers seize over 3.4 kgs of herbal cannabis today.

The drugs were discovered in eight packages which originated from the Netherlands, USA, Canada, and Spain.

The parcels were declared as items like "clothing", "boardgames", "jewellery", and "kitchen supplies".

They were destined for various addresses in Dublin, Kildare, Cork and Waterford.

A Revenue spokesman: "These routine operations are part of Revenue's ongoing work targeting drugs and alcohol smuggling and shadow economy activity.

"If businesses, or members of the public have any information, they can contact Revenue in confidence on Confidential Phone Number 1800 295 295."
