A thug forced his ex to pay him £300 a month after they split up... to stop him leaking intimate photos of her online.
Louie Tedford, 22, blackmailed Kirsty Nealis after she told him she’d had enough of his abuse, which included bombarding her with insults, assaulting her and trying to force her to kill herself.
He was jailed at Paisley Sheriff Court on Tuesday, having pled guilty at an earlier hearing to charges of threatening or abusive behaviour, stalking and assault, all aggravated by involving abuse of his then partner.
Yesterday Kirsty said: “Although I feel he deserved a much longer sentence, I’m just glad I can finally move on and close this chapter of my life.
“I hope the rat enjoys his stay – shame there’s no girls for him to abuse whilst he’s there.”
She added: “I sent the money to him by bank transfer with my old bank account. I can’t remember the exact figure but it was about £1000.”
Procurator Susan Barr told the court Tedford had abused Kirsty, 21, throughout their two-year relationship and after they split and she left their flat in Paisley.
In June 2017, when she was back living with her mother in Erskine, Renfrewshire, Tedford sent her an intimate image of her which she had previously sent him and threatened to “ruin her life”.
She then began paying him £300 a month from her wages, at his demand, to get him to stop harassing her. She reported the offences to police in 2018.
Sheriff David Pender called Tedford’s behaviour “absolutely atrocious”. He caged him for eight months and banned him from contacting Kirsty for five years.
