A popular East Kilbride nightspot will throw open its doors to partygoers tonight for the first time in 18 months.
Revellers will be able to hit the dancefloor and prop up the bar once again as Downtown Nightclub hosts DJ Alan Weston on Friday before welcoming Apollo on Saturday.
It will be the first time the nightclub, at Olympia Court, has welcomed clubbers back since the country was plunged into lockdown due to the global coronavirus pandemic with tight restrictions since March 2020.
But with the Government's announcement that nightclubs could finally open from Monday of this week, Downtown is ready to host the crowds and serve up the best chart RnB mixes and club anthems around to get Lanarkshire's merrymakers back in full swing.

Revellers are being encouraged to put on their best clobber and dance the night away remembering to drink responsibly and stay safe.
Face coverings, whilst still required whilst entering and exiting the club and going to the toilet or the bar, can be removed while dancing, drinking and dining.

The club does however, need to take contact details from punters for Test and Protect and hand sanitisers will be available throughout the building.
These rules will be in place until at least 2022.

Downtown's opening weekend celebrations will take place tonight and tomorrow from 11pm.
No tickets required.
