Revealed! Why Shikha Singh posted the topless picture which created a stir

With social media becoming a part of people's lives, trolling too has become a common phenomenon. And actors experience it on a regular basis now.

Kumkum Bhagya actress Shikha Singh posted a topless picture of her on Instagram and was trolled in no time. While actresses like Sriti Jha, Ashita Dhawan and Ashlesha Sawant liked her picture, she had to face a number of nasty comments too.

We spoke to Shikha about this and here's what she had to say: “I had once posted a picture feeding my baby and at that time too, I was questioned by people. Firstly, I don't care about the comments and views of people and secondly, I want to normalise breast feeding. The latest picture which I posted is also where I am feeding my baby. The picture is taken from an angle from which my child is not visible. I don’t understand why people have a problem. They are okay with bikini pictures, but if I post a picture like this, there is so much drama that happens. People even labeled that picture as a nude photo which it isn’t!”

So how does she deal with trolls and hate comments?

“Initially I was really upset because people were posting weird things. Then there was one comment where someone said how my husband could allow me to post such stuff. It's my husband who clicked that picture," she said and further added, "I read a few more comments and then thought people will always have an opinion and as an actor, I should be mentally prepared for such things. I want to let my baby grow in a space where there are no barriers. Some people say this is not our culture but we all have grown up like with our mothers breast feeding us. It's something so normal, why should anyone feel offended?"

In the end she says, “I wish people normalise normal bodies and realise that their value doesn’t lie in how your body looks. I’m proud of this transformation of my body on becoming a mother and I chose to normalise it because it’s me who has gone through the changes and I am loving it.”
