Revealed: When Danilo will have Nottingham Forest medical after transfer fee agreed

Nottingham Forest have agreed a fee with Palmeiras for midfielder Danilo, according to a report.

The 21-year-old is understood to be set to arrive on Trentside over the weekend to complete his medical ahead of a £17.8million move, which would make him Forest's second arrival of the January transfer window.

He follows former Palmeiras teammate Gustavo Scarpa, who arrived on a free transfer and has made an impressive impact with his early displays under head coach Steve Cooper.

Scarpa will be joined by Danilo in the coming days, according to The Athletic, who also say Forest saw off competition from Arsenal, Chelsea and Monaco for his signature.

Danilo will not be lacking in match fitness, having made a whopping 53 appearances across all competitions last season. The Brazilian campaign ended last month, so he should now be rested and ready to hit the ground running in the Premier League.

According to an early promise from owner Evangelos Marinakis, Forest will be eyeing at least one more arrival in the winter transfer window. Forest have been linked with a whole host of players, including Shakhtar Donetsk winger Tete and Montpelier defender Maxime Esteve.
